Everything died, the Macbook refused to turn back on, I tried all the reset commands and got into contact with Apple first thing the next morning. The screen flashed for a brief second and then went black. I had been downstairs using my Macbook as a normal laptop, and when I was done, I closed the lid, carried it up to my desk, placed it down and then plugged in USB C hub with everything connected.
I then plugged in my keyboard, mouse, Ethernet and monitor into this USB C hub, along with the Macbook charger (so that I had a free USB C port on my Macbook), all was working perfectly fine until 21st January. At Christmas, I got another ZMUIPNG USB C hub, but this one had power delivery.
Hi all, I purchased an M1 Macbook Air in November 2020, and was using it as my main computer along side an ZMUIPNG USB C hub, this was all working perfectly well and I had no issues.
I have seen another thread related to this: Till today I am waiting for my refund after paying so much and having nothing in my hand. To get the Macbook I had to wait so long and after 9 days it was dead and Apple was unable to repair it in 20 days and after spending 10-15 hours on call with Apple Support and then with Customer Relations team I got my refund approved.Īpple Support says it is a hardware issue and they can’t do anything only service center can help you and service center says they are waiting for the part from Apple you can contact Apple Support. So I submitted it to the service center the same day they said it has logic board and touch id issue which they ordered and received after 15-16 days and when they replaced it they found that the display also has issues and they would have to replace it and as M1 Macbooks are new the parts are hardly available here. I purchased it on 11th Jan 2021 and it was dead in 9 days on 20th Jan 2021 and Apple has no replacement or refund policy in India. I am from India, and my Macbook M1 was dead in 9 days. The same has happened with my Macbook M1 Air. I'd like to try and keep discussion about experience with Apple store staff etc to somewhere else, just to give some clarity! Sources of other areas this has been reported or acknowledged If someone posted about the same hub you used, try to reply in line. Brand and model of USB-C device used during a failure. Lets try and keep replies to this thread relating to: It's as if it has no power.ĭoes anyone else have this issue? Have specific information on it? I personally have had two M1 Macs fail now - one took nearly 3 weeks to go, one lasted 30 minutes.
When experienced, the Mac will simply go completely blank and then be totally unresponsive. Here is an example of a device that has been reported to have bricked an M1 Mac Pro: It seems there is potentially an issue with M1 Mac's and USB-C Hubs, possibly specifically related to power delivery capable ones.
